| Project Title: | Forest Ecosystem Investment for Climate Mitigation and Adaptation in India and Rewarding Co-benefits of Forest Carbon |
| Abstract of Project : | |
| Through my Fulbright grant I will demonstrate the usefulness of modeling, valuation and accounting of forest ecosystem services in decision-making processes. I shall highlight the use of forest ecosystem infrastructure as response mechanism for climate change and as a base for setting up forest carbon payments and co-benefits regimes. Working with Dr. Robert Costanza at Portland State University, who has pioneered valuation and economy-ecology modeling work would strengthen my capabilities as well as that of the Centre for Ecological Services Management that I manage at IIFM. I intend to meet various stakeholders and visit model sites. | |
